PHYS 335       (3-0-3)            Principles of Semiconductors


Current transport in semiconductor carrier statistics, type of semiconductors, carrier velocity, resistivity, carrier diffusion, and the total current.  Excess carriers in semiconductors, optical absorption, luminescence, carrier  life time and photoconductivity, direct and indirect recombination of electrons and p-n junctions, carrier injection, minority and majority carrier currents, reverse bias breakdown, transient and A.C. conditions.
